Budget Setup With Ease
Most AEC firms have separate systems for estimating, project management, and job
cost control and are not integrated. This leads to duplicate data entry. For example,
most accounting departments will enter job cost code budgets by hand into their
system using the estimator's proposal or report. With Corecon, these issues are
eliminated by using built-in wizards. If you use Corecon's Estimating system, the
accounting department can use the 'Estimating to PM Wizard' to automatically setup
job cost codes, prime contracts,
subcontracts, pos, and budgets. However,
if your estimating department insists on using Microsoft Excel or a 3rd party program,
Corecon has a similar project setup wizard that uses a Microsoft Excel file. Either
method will greatly save time and reduce data entry errors.
Track time more effectively
Take advantage of Corecon's Employee Management and Equipment features to track
labor hours or
equipment time by project, contract, and job cost code. Being web-based,
Corecon's timecard feature allows employees to enter hours into a weekly timecard
sheet from the jobsite, home, or main office. These timecard entries can then be
reviewed/approved by the timecard administrator. If your using a hardware based
time-tracking solution out on jobsites, Corecon also offers import capabilities
for labor timecards using Microsoft Excel.
Keep expenses under control
For procurement, Corecon offers both subcontracts
and purchare orders. The difference being subcontracts having change orders and
retainage can be tracked for sub invoices. For AEC firms that use small business
accounting packages such as QuickBooks or Microsoft Small Business Accounting, this
can be difficult to manage within the accounting system. Plus, cost budgets can
be setup for material, labor, equipment, sub, and other categories to track estimated
versus actuals. This provides both the Project Manager who is running the job and
the accounting staff tools to keep their projects within budget.
