Construction Estimating Software Features - Estimate Line Items
Adding items to the Estimate is easy. With Corecon, you can add Labor Items, Equipment
Items, Crews, Work Items, or Work Assemblies from your own Cost Database or an RS Means database. You can also add
special items on the fly if you want. When adding items to an estimate, each line
item will be tagged for a particular Work Breakdown Structure.
From a financial perspective, the sum of the estimate items plus the markups define the estimate price. Each estimate item has
both cost rates and sell rates for Material (M), Labor (L), Equipment (E), Sub (S),
and Other (O). The sell rates are used in the estimate proposal.
Additional fields are available to document comments when sending out a request
for quotation to subs and suppliers or when generating an estimate proposal for
the customer. Corecon also provides the ability to document options for items such
as the case in homebuilding. For example, an estimate may include a cost line item
for carpet flooring in the family room. You will be able to add items on the side
for wood, tile, or marble flooring. These option items will not be included in the
overall cost of the estimate unless the estimator swaps out the standard item with
one of the options.
