Construction Project Management Software Features - Submittals
Submittals are typically prepared by the contractor and are sent to the project
representative (i.e. owner, architect, consultant) for review and approval. Examples
of submittals are shop drawings, engineering data, material samples, schedules,
test results, and product literature/manuals. These Submittal Items are documented
in the contract documents and are part of the permanent project record. Certain
submittals such as product manuals are often used later by the building owner for
operational purposes.
Corecon offers free collaboration for the Submittal process.
Since many jobs are submittal driven, Corecon provides an efficient, easy-to-use
submittal process to ensure adequate time for review by any party affected by the
submittal item. In Corecon, it does not matter whether a contractor or subcontractor,
an architect or vendor generates the submittal. Corecon automatically tracks the
original author of the submittal and the names of all the companies responding.
When sending Submittals from Corecon either via fax or email, Corecon will automatically
include in the message instructions for the the recipient to respond electronically
using a secure collaboration site. Otherwise, a Submittal Transmittal can be printed
when sending the package via mail.
Tracking Open Submittals
Corecon provides tools for the construction team to quickly identify open Submittals.
In addition, Alerts and Calendar views are available to quickly get a snapshot on
upcoming Submittals that require follow-up. This is especially important for long
lead items such as structural steel shop drawings.
