Construction Project Management Software Features - Request For Information (RFI)
Architectural, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) firms can use the Request
For Information (RFI) feature to document questions and responses from project team
members. Often times, RFIs are sent by the Contractor to the Architect or Owner
to confirm the interpretation of a detail or note on the construction drawings or
within the project specifications. Architects and Engineers have to be especially
careful responding to RFIs within the specified time frame in order to prevent work
disruptions and reduce risk. If the RFI causes a change in work scope, Change Orders
(CO) are then typically issued to compensate for the increase or decrease to the
cost budget.
Corecon offers free collaboration for the RFI process.
When sending RFIs from Corecon either via fax or email, Corecon will automatically
include in the message instructions for the the recipient to respond electronically
using a secure collaboration site. Otherwise, an RFI can be printed using one of
Corecon's many built-in reports for manual follow-up.
Tracking Open RFIs
Corecon provides tools for the construction team to quickly identify open RFIs.
In addition, Alerts and Calendar views are available to quickly get a snapshot on
upcoming RFIs that require follow-up.
