Construction Project Management Software Features - Journals (Correspondence)
Besides the standard construction documentation features (i.e. Daily Logs, RFIs,
or Submittals), Corecon can record and track basic project correspondence using
the Journals feature. Examples of Journals can be Letters, Emails, Faxes, Notes,
and Phone Conversations. All of these types of documents are organized by construction
project and reminder dates can be set for future follow-up.
Like most software features within Corecon, the Journals feature includes report
options formatted in various styles and log reports that summarize correspondence
for the project. In addition, there are unlimited options for customizing reports
using Corecon’s Word Template integration. One can create Word Templates from scratch
or use Corecon’s default templates. Each template can be modified to include a company
logo and Bookmarks can be added to identify the location and type of information
to be placed in the template.
Solving a very common communication problem using Journals
Often times, contractors will send emails to individuals within their organization
and to outside project team members. Those recipients will then respond to the email
by replying back. As the project progresses, each individual will have countless
emails in their inbox and their project correspondence becomes unmanageable. Plus,
nobody is on the same page since some individuals may not have all the correspondence
that occurred. Corecon will solve this problem using the Journal’s built-in collaboration
features.
When sending out Journals using Corecon’s email method, a hyperlink and security
code will be added within the message allowing the recipient (i.e. architect, owner,
GC) to directly comment on the Journal itself. This collaboration is free and is
also available on other features (i.e. RFIs and Submittals) as well. With one point
of entry for project communication, all project team members will be able to view
this information, eliminating the information overload.
